Jewelry repair
Dent and hollow gold repair.
Hollow gold looks heavy but is made from thin metal, so it dents and crushes easily. Many dents can be worked out, and small holes or splits can be repaired. Severe damage sometimes means replacing a section.
When you might need it.
- A hoop earring or bangle has a dent or flat spot
- A hollow rope or link chain has a crushed section
- There's a small hole or split in the metal
What’s involved.
Assessing the metal
Hollow pieces are checked for how thin the metal is and whether it can be reshaped safely.
Reshaping
Dents are worked out gently where the metal allows.
Repairing holes
Small holes and splits are closed, often with a laser welder, and the area is refinished.

Can every dent be removed?
Not always. Very thin or creased metal may not reshape cleanly. We'll tell you honestly from photos and on inspection.
Can a crushed chain section be replaced?
Sometimes. It depends on the chain style and whether matching links can be made or found.
