Watch repair
Luxury watch servicing.
A mechanical watch has hundreds of small parts that need clean oil to keep good time. Servicing involves inspecting, cleaning, and lubricating the movement, and replacing worn parts as needed.
When you might need it.
- The watch runs noticeably fast or slow, or stops overnight
- The crown feels gritty or hard to wind
- Moisture or fog under the crystal
- It hasn't been serviced in many years
What’s involved.
Inspection
The watch is checked and its condition recorded. You get a final estimate before any work begins.
Servicing
The movement is taken apart, cleaned, lubricated, reassembled, and adjusted. Worn parts are replaced as needed.
Testing
Timekeeping is checked before the watch is returned.
Care at the bench.
What we watch for when we do luxury watch servicing.
A full look before the final price
The movement, case, crystal, and bracelet are checked so the final price reflects what the watch actually needs.
Seals considered
Opening a case affects its seals, so gaskets are checked whenever the case is opened.
Your preferences for the case
Some owners want a case refinished; others want every original mark left alone. Tell us, and we'll follow your preference.
Preliminary pricing.
Your preliminary price range is free and comes from your photos. The final price is confirmed after we inspect the piece in hand, and no work starts until you approve it.
What affects the price
- The movement: automatic, manual, or with complications such as a chronograph
- The condition of the movement and any parts that need replacing
- Parts availability for the brand and model
- Case and bracelet work requested at the same time
If you’re mailing it in

Which watch brands do you service?
Tell us the brand and model in your estimate request and we'll confirm whether we can service it before you ship anything.
Is a quartz watch serviced the same way?
Not quite. Quartz watches often only need a battery and a seal check, but they can also need movement repair. Our battery replacement page covers the simpler case.
How often should a mechanical watch be serviced?
Brands recommend different intervals, often several years apart. Signs a watch is due include poor timekeeping, a short power reserve, or a rough feel when winding.
