Jewelry repair

Stone replacement.

When a stone falls out or chips, we can replace it with one that matches the piece as closely as possible in size, shape, and color. You choose between options, natural or lab-grown where available, before anything is set.

When you might need it.

  • A stone is missing from a ring, bracelet, or earring
  • A stone is chipped or cracked
  • A stone looks different from the others and you'd like a better match

What’s involved.

  1. Checking the setting

The setting that lost the stone is checked, so the new stone doesn't fall out the same way.

  2. Matching

We find stones to match the size, cut, and color, and show you the options and prices.

  3. Setting

The chosen stone is set and checked under magnification.

Preliminary pricing.

Your preliminary price range is free and comes from your photos. The final price is confirmed after we inspect the piece in hand, and no work starts until you approve it.

What affects the price

  • The type, size, and quality of the stone
  • Natural or lab-grown
  • The type of setting
  • Repairs the setting needs

If you’re mailing it in

Measure or photograph the other stones next to a ruler if you can. It helps us match the replacement.

Start with photos. Don’t ship anything until we’ve agreed on shipping and insurance with you.

Common questions.

Can you supply a stone, or do I bring one?

Either. We can source a stone to match, or set one you supply.

Will the new stone match exactly?

We aim for a close match and show you before setting. Older or unusual stones can be hard to match exactly, and we'll say so.

Send photos. Get a price. Decide from there.

The estimate is free and takes a few minutes. You’re under no obligation to go ahead.
